SERAPHIM LEGACY SOCIETY
With more than 500 members and nearly $33 million in legacy gifts since 1991, the Seraphim Legacy Society is a strong community of alumni and friends who have included the university in their long-range estate plans.
The Seraphim Legacy Society honors those who preserve and pass on the St. Bonaventure promise through deferred or “planned” gifts in wills, trusts, and other methods. The name Seraphim Legacy Society was chosen for this distinctive association of patrons because of the great significance of the seraph to the Franciscan Order and to the university.
A seraphic vision in 1224 on Mount La Verna resulted in St. Francis receiving the Stigmata, the imprinted passion of Christ upon his flesh. This became a tangible sign that Francis was a blessed man. In the same way, St. Bonaventure is blessed by the legacy of our Seraphim members whose thoughtfulness leaves a positive and lasting mark on the university.
